2015-2016-2017 USEF LEADING MORGAN SIRE
The sire of THREE FATES CHEIRON, the 2015-2016-2017 USEF GRAND CHAMPION MORGAN
By an own son of the great trotting sire Trophy, Gamby was a classic Morgan from his beautiful tippy ears, to his outstanding disposition, to his wonderful offspring. With a show career that began as a three year old and continued over 17 years and through countless divisions, he was the quintessential Morgan stallion and we were privileged to be his last owners and caretakers.
Gamby arrived here in 2003 and had enjoyed great success in the Classic Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Pleasure Driving and In Hand divisions both with professionals and with amateur owners showing him. Lori enjoyed showing him in the Classic Pleasure division, then moved into Dressage and did very well there too. They even won the Road Hack at the Buckeye Challenge in 2005!
A few of Gamborian’s notable wins include:
• Three Times Champion Amateur English Pleasure at River Ridge
• Twice Grand Champion Stallion at River Ridge
• Twice Champion Amateur English Pleasure at the Buckeye Challenge
• Champion Amateur English Pleasure at Penn-Ohio
• Grand Champion Stallion at the Buckeye Challenge
• Champion Classic Pleasure Saddle at the Ohio State Fair
• Pro/Am Western Pleasure Jackpot Champion at the Gold Cup
• Champion Amateur Western Pleasure at the Buckeye Challenge
Although his breeding career was limited, he enjoyed being the sire with the highest average points per get on the Saddle Horse Report Sire Rating for several years, as his son Three Fates Cheiron continues to chalk up wins across several divisions every year. His first year at the top of the list he enjoyed being in third place in 2012, then moved up to first place in 2013 out of over 500 sires. In 2014, he found himself in second place out of nearly 500 sires. In 2015, PKM Gamborian was again the #1 Sire of Average Points Per Get, with all 1,135 of those points being earned by Ronnie—the next closest sire was Mantic Emperor with 489 points. In 2016 he did it again, putting Gamborian at the top of the list. And in 2017, he still made the top five in the fourth position.
In 2013, he sired the beautiful TFF Take A Guess (out of WRR Notorious, by Astronomicallee), who is just starting her harness training, but is looking very fancy. We bred many of our own mares to Gamborian the last few years in hopes of preserving his old, rare blood for the future.
